Newsjacking, the David Meerman Scott-invention of “injecting your ideas into a breaking news story so you and your ideas get noticed,” will be front-and-center tonight as one story takes over most of the United States: The third presidential debate between Republican nominee Donald Trump and Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton. 

Brands will be capitalizing on the story, the tone of the debate, maybe even the actual clothes the candidates wear by hopping in on #debate or #debate2016 hashtags on social media.
