Slack announced it has added a new machine learning powered search feature to its popular team communication platform. For teams on one of Slack’s paid plans, a new section called “People & Channels” will now appear at the top of search results. This section displays names of the team members most likely to get you the right answer quickly. You can jump into any of the public channels where your search term was discussed to get more help, directing questions to the right people with an @ mention.

From the company: “While org charts and team directories can help you visualize how departments within your company are structured, they don’t always reveal who you should reach out to for a specific topic or question. Search in Slack now surfaces people likely to know about the topic at hand, along with the channels where you can reach them.”
